This project required major feature enhancements to an existing web-based ASP.NET kiosk system including development of interfaces for upgraded peripheral hardware. The web application interacts with client-side hardware as well as a server-side SQL Server database, LDAP compatible user directories and third party applications. As part of this project, Gale Force Software engineers worked with the hardware vendor to develop a procedure allowing them to install kiosk software using a disk image.
Gale Force Software engineers worked seamlessly as a part of the client's overall engineering team to produce a medical device used for patient self-testing. This device will be submitted to the FDA for approval before going to market. Gale Force Software engineers were responsible for writing drivers to control an LCD display and USB communication as well as screen navigation and medically critical algorithms. The product's platform is a custom real-time operating system on a TI MSP430 processor.
Gale Force Software developed an application for an iPad device used as an external status monitor for a clinical chemistry analyzer. The application supports the client's proprietary serial protocol, giving the iPad user full access to the analyzer to control low-level functions of the embedded instrumentation system. Technicians can run manufacturing tests and diagnostics for complex instruments in the field as well as remotely initiate complex motions through the use of fully configurable scripts.
A client came to Gale Force Software with the idea of porting an existing C# application to an Android tablet using a cross-platform plug-in to save on development costs. Though initially promising, our engineers uncovered several potential risks associated with the plug-in. Ultimately we ported the existing code into a native Android application with multi-touch gestural capabilities and a rich user interface that provides real-time graphing of diagnostic data received from an electronic device via Bluetooth.
Our engineers performed a full remediation of an FDA-regulated medical device to correct software deficiencies and bring the software development life cycle process and documentation into compliance with International Standard IEC62304. As part of the process a software development plan, software test plan, requirements documents, FMEA document and software unit and integration test protocol were written. The test protocol was executed and documented and a formal code review was performed.
Nearly four years ago a small business on a shoestring budget came to Gale Force Software with a partially implemented emergency nurse call system. The business had no in-house development capabilities and had lost the contractors working on the project. We completed the system which consists of a Silverlight web application and a multi-threaded server application including a WCF layer and multiple interfaces to off-the-shelf alert signaling devices. We continue to serve as the company's development team.
