Featured Projects

Gale Force Software works with clients who are developing products in a variety of markets, such as medical device, facility security, residential HVAC, finance, and consumer electronics. The following are examples of some of our recent work.

Call Center Data Retrieval Architecture

A world leader in the business of providing student loans engaged Gale Force Software to construct an enterprise-wide call center data retrieval architecture that provides connectivity to approximately 10 back-end systems.  The architecture supports 1,500 telephone lines of inbound integrated voice response (IVR) traffic from multiple geographic regions.  The overall system is capable of supporting more than 10,000 calls per hour, routinely processing more than three million transactions per day, and is operational 24 hours a day.

Technologies: C++, C#, ASP.NET on Windows 2003; Java on Unix (HP, Solaris, Linux); IBM WebSphere MQ for communication.

Wireless Facility Access Management

Gale Force Software engineers have worked with the client in the conversion of an existing electro-mechanical lock product into a system in which secure entry can now be controlled and monitored wirelessly.  This was achieved by integrating a wireless third-party access control panel with the existing off-line product.  The system supports proximity, magnetic stripe, and dual validation reader technologies.  It provides the client's current off-line lock customers with the ability to upgrade to real-time, wireless data connectivity with a simple software upgrade to its installed locking system.

Technologies: C++ and C# on Windows XP/2003

Mobile Field Service Tools

Gale Force Software designed the software architecture, user interface, and proprietary communication drivers/protocols for a set of hand-held service tools used by field personnel in servicing HVAC systems operating in residential settings.  These end users will have the flexibility to run the application on a range of platforms -- including PCs and PDAs running the Windows, Windows Mobile, or Palm operating systems.

Technologies: Palm, Windows, Windows Mobile, USB, RJ-485, .NET/C#, Proprietary Protocols

Thermal Printer Subsystem

The client engaged Gale Force Software to design and develop the firmware for an embedded thermal printer subsystem used in a laboratory device.  Our engineering team was successful in developing the firmware, which included a bi-directional serial interface used for sending commands to the thermal printer and that was capable of printing both graphics and text in three different font sizes.  The printer is also able to read and write external flash memory and supports both custom and standard fonts.

Technologies: C++, uC/OS, Motorola HC12x processor

Medical Device for Patient Self-Testing

Gale Force Software is engaged in the design and development of the user interface portion of the firmware for a hand-held medical device intended for patient self-testing.  Features of the device include a color graphics LCD and Bluetooth and IR communication with external devices.  This has been a full life-cycle development effort on a product that will be submitted to the FDA for approval before it can be introduced into the market.  Gale Force Software engineers have worked seamlessly as a part of the client's overall project team since the beginning of the effort.

Technologies: C, NEC V850 processor, Bluetooth and IR communication
