U.S. Navy Seaport-e Rolling Admissions Award N00178-11-D-6553

Gale Force Software Corporation (GFSC) has been awarded a SeaPort Enhanced (seaport-e) prime contract under the Navy's Multiple Award Contract (MAC) vehicle. The potential software engineering services that can be provided by GFSC under this contract fall into the following functional areas: Research and Development Support; Modeling, Simulation, Stimulation, and Analysis Support; Software Engineer, Development, Programming, and Network Support; and System Design Documentation and Technical Data Support.

GFSC provides custom software and firmware development services to clients who are engaged in the development of intelligent electronic products. We have worked with clients in a range of commercial industries, including medical devices, facility security, consumer electronics, and high-end electronic products for residential plumbing. Members of the GFSC technical staff have particular long-term experience in working on products in highly-regulated markets, such as FDA-regulated medical devices, and have supported the development and successful launch of a number of those products into the marketplace.

Several GFSC technical staff members have also previously worked either for major defense contractors or for DoD facilities, including the former Naval Air Warfare Center, ITT Aerospace; Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC); Veda, Incorporated; and I-NET, Inc.

GFSC has significant expertise in providing a range of services in support of all phases of the product development lifecycle for our clients, including requirements specification and management (using IBM Rational DOORS), proof-of-concept/feasibility, prototyping, simulation/emulation, implementation, verification and validation testing, manufacturing support, and post-launch support. Our services have included software and firmware architecture design; software application design and development; firmware development on a growing range of microprocessors; fixed-price project management; development of simulators and emulators for use in determining feasibility, development, and testing; and systems engineering support. We have particular strengths in object-oriented analysis and design, data acquisition, serial and wireless data transfer, and working with proprietary communication protocols.

The standards and practices used by GFSC in designing, implementing, and testing software systems results in software applications and products that are built in a way that meet the following goals and characteristics:

  • Are stable, reliable, executable products
  • Produce the correct results
  • Meet or exceed the customer's needs and expectations
  • Provide a sound engineering solution to a government or business problem
  • Are highly maintainable bodies of source code
  • Are well-documented at the system, code, and operational environment levels
  • Produce a verifiable product
